Bostin News: Meet Content Editor Tim Brinkhurst

Tell us what you do:
Artist, musician, music producer, writer and graphic designer.

Why did you want to be a Bostin News Content Editor?
I liked the idea of the freedom to create something original in the setting of of my local manor.

How and why did you choose the people you commissioned?
Both artists live nearby. Both challenge the basic concept of their artistic genres. Fokawolf makes public art with self-destructing statements that nevertheless live on in an intrigued memory. Caroline installs art that feels both solid and light, using ‘building’ materials to make designs that seem to dance.

Was there anything surprising about the work / commissions you received back?
Both artists exhibited unwarranted modesty in their self-descriptions.

Can you tell us a bit about the motivations for your own pieces?
Everyone can have an epic thought, we all, at some point notice beauty and, in our heads, put together images and ideas that, if they were expressed, would be art. I wanted to speak the inner thoughts of people who perhaps don’t think of themselves as artists and juxtapose them with people who definitely are.
