Creative Connections: Scribble2Screen with LearnPlay Foundation

LearnPlay Foundation is a not-for-profit digital media organisation that specialises in providing creative solutions for work, play, learning and development.

This project was aimed at motivating Black Country residents old and young to take a step towards creativity and to feel like part of a community when doing it. LearnPlay Foundation provided a platform to spur anyone with a pen, pencil or marker to draw and share something whilst removing the pressure to make it perfect.

The team tasked the local community to design their own fantasy characters. Each week, digital artists were tasked with recreating them digitally with fully imagined 2D and 3D renders. There were no barriers to entry and they took submissions from all age groups.

You can see the final versions tweeted at @Scribble2Screen as well as work-in-progress images for participants to see their images evolve.

The design challenges were undertaken by apprentice designers.
