Announcing the recipients of the Small Grant Commissions to Support Cultural Projects in Walsall
Bringing Creativity and Community Together in 2024
In collaboration with One Walsall and as part of the 'Walsall Makes' programme, Creative Black Country (CBC) is proud to announce the recipients of the series of Small Community Cultural Grants (ranging from £1k to £5k) as part of our ongoing partnership to celebrate and enrich local culture in Walsall.
Designed to instill pride, cultural confidence, and create magical moments for residents, the initiative aims to redefine Walsall's local spaces through engaging, collaborative projects. The grants will support a range of activities, from hands-on workshops to live performances, bringing people together and fostering a sense of community.
Successful Projects Include:

From Concept to Creation by Black Diamond Creations: A 10-week Prosthetics and SFX Workshop for Walsall College students, culminating in a community production showcasing their new skills.
Walsall Wonderland by Bostin Creatives: A festive day of free family fun at the Walsall Hub, including crafts, live music, storytelling, and a Christmas performance.
The Hidden Hands of Walsall by Tereza Buskova: A creative project with women from migrant backgrounds who will design cultural headdresses, culminating in a procession through Walsall.
