Walsall Makes: The Hidden Hands of Walsall Procession
The Hidden Hands of Walsall by Tereza Buskova
The Hidden Hands of Walsall engaged with a group of women from diverse and often migrant backgrounds living in Walsall who regularly meet at Simple Steps CIC and Aaina Community Hub. During a series of workshops and using a variety of creative techniques they helped to design and make a traditional headdress that reflected their experiences /and culture.
The completed headdress was worn in a procession through Walsall at the end of November.
The project was supported by a Small Commission Grant in partnership with Creative Black Country and One Walsall as part of the larger Walsall Makes project which aims to showcase creativity across the town.
