OPPORTUNITY: Creative Associate - Artist in Residence with CBC and whg

Calling on artists who are interested in collaborating with residents to make great creative experiences happen in Walsall.

A new partnership between Walsall Housing Group (whg) and Creative Black Country (CBC) presents a unique Artist in Residency opportunity now open for tender.

Our partnership is rooted in community, both CBC and whg aim to create the conditions for creative exploration to exist which may lead to increased well-being of the participants.

We are interested in working with artists (individual or collective) who are excited to co-design and deliver a range of art-based activities with older people who live in a whg home which will support some of the following long outcomes;

  • Improve Confidence and access to new activities

  • Reduce Loneliness and Isolation

  • Improve Mental Wellbeing

  • Explore intergenerational activities bringing together local school children with those older customers who live in a whg home.

  • Explore opportunities to bring people who live in a whg home together which may encourage international experiences

We expect that all activities developed by this residency will promote these from the foundations to the core.

Programme for local communities to access through housing.  The residency will take place in collaboration with People who live in a whg home within an independent living scheme within Birchills and a further wellbeing scheme in Wolverhampton.

The residency will also be supported by dedicated customer facing whg staff and CBC creative advisor.

The residency will last 8 months and there is a fee of £15,000.
