Invitation to the 2022 creative project planning evening, 8th December 5pm-8pm
We’d like to invite you to an evening of creative project planning for Dudley in 2022 where we are bringing together creatives, organisations and people who are interested in creating a culture programme across the borough next year - and we’d love your input.
What is happening:
We’ll be getting together to work on project ideas (no matter how small or how advanced) using a simple project planning canvas that will help us identify what we want to do, how we might do it, what resources we might need and who we might like to work with.
Why is it happening:
We want to bring MORE creativity and projects to the Dudley Borough and we have an opportunity to help inform what that could look like. Creative Black Country, alongside CoLab Dudley, are working with Dudley Council to help produce a cultural strategy for the borough. There is a 3-step plan to the process:
1. Mapping cultural activity and stakeholders
2. Programming activity during 2022 and alongside the Commonwealth Games in the Summer
3. Bringing together the learning to build a strategy for the next 10 years
This is an opportunity for you to help to begin to inform that strategy and input your ideas. We will be presenting these ideas/projects to DMBC next year so we’re looking at 2022 to give us all the opportunity to potentially pilot some of these ideas.
We can’t promise that all projects will be supported but we can offer recommendations, help with potential funding and commissioning sources. Ultimately our aim it to make sure that the creative community of the borough is heard.
When + What time: We’ll be meeting from 5pm-8pm on Wednesday 8th December. You don’t need to be there the entire time - we’ll start at 5.30pm with a chat and introductions and then we’ll work on project ideas. It will be informal; grab a drink, chat to people and plan. I’ll be on hand to chat through ideas, share some ideas (if useful) and hopefully connect you to like-minded creatives.
Where: Venue address is: CoLab Dudley, 201a High Street, DY1 1QQ (opposite Wetherspoons / Bostin sign).
There is parking on Satfford Street plus on street parking on the High Street (if available) or we are a 5 minute walk from the Bus Station.
Who will be there: We’re inviting a range of people who have been in touch with us previously, shown an interest in creative projects, and have filled out our questionnaire. But if you know anyone else who might be interested then you are welcome to bring them along.
Do I need to bring anything: Something to write with, your ideas and imagination.
What if I can’t make it: No problem, let’s chat over the phone or over a coffee. Email me and we can make a suitable date and time work.
Commissioning Opportunities: Just incase you have a project ready to go or want to test out please do take a look at CBC’s Creative Connections Commissions There is £500-£2000 available for projects that will take place in 2022 - deadline is 6th December.
